在进入wwe之前，triple h在1993年于world championship wrestling(wcw)摔角，当时他的擂台名先是terra ryzing，而后改为了jean-paul lévesque。triple h于1995年加入了world wrestling federation(wwf)，擂台名hunter hearst helmsley。随后他自己改名为triple h同时在dx组合中渐渐改变了自己所扮演的角色。在dx解散后，triple h上位成为了主赛级选手，赢下了大大小小很多冠军腰带。在故事线中，triple h和wwe老板千金stephanie mcmahon结婚，结果两人弄假成真在现实生活中也真结了婚。2003年，triple h组建了evolution，2006年，他和shawn michaels再次组建了dx可不久由于triple h的受伤再次解散。伤愈复出后他和shawn michaels在2009年强强联手又重组了dx。总的来看，triple h是13次世界冠军，包括8次wwe冠军，5次whc。另外，他还赢得了1997年的king of the ring，2002年的royal rumble，而且是第二个grand slam championship得主。擂台外，triple h作为嘉宾也参与了众多电影和电视节目的拍摄
